IBAT Political Action Committee

The IBAT POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE is exclusively dedicated to helping elect men and women who understand and support the community banking industry. It is an essential tool in IBAT’s government relations efforts and helps educate and support candidates who are committed to a successful economic and regulatory environment for community banks and the communities they serve across Texas.

There are a variety of ways in which you can contribute to the IBAT State PAC but keep in mind you can only contribute to the IBAT FedPAC through a personal check or personal credit card.

The IBAT Leadership Division Board of Directors is continuously looking for ways to increase the involvement of IBAT member banks to raise the much needed funds for the political action committees. In addition to helping support candidates who understand how important community banks are to Texas, a Bank PAC Drive creates “buy in” to the elective and legislative process, and involves and engages directors, officers and employees in a tangible way.

 

Importance of Hosting a PAC Drive
IBAT PAC and IBAT FedPAC contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. All contributions to the IBAT PAC and IBAT FedPAC are voluntary. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. Federal law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a calendar year. State election regulations require political committees to report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $50 in a calendar year. Remember, no corporate contributions to the State or Federal PAC can be accepted.

If you or your company provide investment or securities products or services and you or your company are registered with FINRA, the SEC or the Texas State Securities Board as an investment advisor according to SEC Rule 206(4)-5, and FINRA Rule 2030 (the “Pay-to-Play Rules”), you may only contribute personal funds to the IBAT FedPAC and other restrictions may apply.
