Fail Faster! Building Resilient Leaders

Agility, grit, and resilience are the new leadership currency. Have you ever thought about all the massively successful products, creations and innovations we enjoy today because their inventors/creators were able to consistently bounce back and overcome failure?

Failure is a hot topic in the business world today. That’s because we are starting to recognize that failure is information, and it comes with valuable lessons, if we can shift our viewpoint to see and embrace them. One of the key ways to do this is to build resilience in our organizations, and the way to do that is by building more resilient leaders and employees.

Business Ethics, Wells Fargo and Mickey Gilley: Why All New Accounts Look Profitable at Closing Time

When the news broke about 2,000,000 fraudulent accounts at Wells Fargo, it employed 269,000 people.  It also had a formal code of ethics.  Why were there not 269,000 whistleblowers? I will answer this question in this informative and entertaining presentation by highlighting Mickey Gilley’s profound wisdom:  "ain't it funny, ain’t  it strange, the way a man's opinions change when he starts to face that lonely night."  Relying on codes of ethics to constrain unethical behavior without addressing the human frailty during “lonely nights” of administrative, personal and financial pressures is a fool’s errand.  You will walk out of this presentation with strategies for transforming codes of ethics into behavioral realities. Thank you, Mickey.

Never Give Up!  The Survivor Way

As we survive life's challenges, we come face to face with fear and uncertainty.  Challenges may allow us to step out of our comfort zone and push ourselves above and beyond our own self-limitations.  It is how we choose to overcome challenges that make us who we are.  It is our strength in times of difficulty that prove our character and self-worth.  As I share with you an experience that I had, that not only pushed my physically but mentally, I encourage you to think about how you decide to survive on a daily basis.  I will encourage you to think about six words to develop your survival skills.  With my six simple words, you can take on any challenge you are faced with.  Adversity is not so much contending with problems as it is learning more about who you are and what is inside of you.  Join me and explore what your true survival skills are
